Day 6: Ljubljana: The City of Dragons

On our train to Ljubjlana, we met Jason Mraz girl (she’ll be important later in this story, as well).  Her real name was Julia. She was meeting up with some friends in Croatia and heading to Greece when we would be there. Her friend’s boyfriend has a mansion in Greece and we talked about meeting up later on in our travels.

Anyways, we got to Ljubljana around 2:30 and wandered around. We stopped by the Castle, where we got free food from a random wine tasting. There were street performers everywhere who were absolutely ridiculous, so of course we watched :)

Then we went to a cafe to watch the Brazil v. the Netherlands game. There was a really interesting town drunk who befriended us immediately. He gave me some candy (which I still havent eaten) and Forrest was jealous.

Then it was the moment we had been waiting for all our lives. We crossed the famous Dragon Bridge.  Forrest, having experience being a dragon and all, felt right at home.

Day 4: Paris

IMG_2494 We started the day off at the Louvre. Well not really… we sat outside, stuck our feet in the fountain and people watched :)

This is what we found:

After walking around some more, we ventured to Musée de l'Orangerie.

IMG_2497My favorite were definitely Monet’s massive water lilies.  DSC05562This is me pondering the meaning of life. (Photo Credit:FM) IMG_2504Forrest, deep in thought.

After exploring the museum, we headed to Luxembourg Park for nap time.

IMG_2514After naptime, we dipped our feet in the fountain for a while and then got ready for the Eiffel Tower!

Day 3: PARIS!

We took the night train and arrived in Paris around 10:30

IMG_2400 First, we went to the Moulin Rouge.

IMG_2404 Forrest being realllll sassy in front of the Moulin Rouge

IMG_2409We ate lunch at a park next to the Moulin Rouge that had this love wall. We found "I love you.” There were hilarious teenagers being all romantic, writing on the wall in white out.

IMG_2419 After lunch, we headed to the Arc de Triomphe.

DSC05414 So this is where it all started.

We saw this lady modeling at the Arc and from then on, I would honor her by copying this pose...

IMG_2482After walking around the artist’s district, we ate at a little cafe.

We napped under the Eiffel Tower and people watched (of course).IMG_2477

Then we headed to the Fifa Fan Fest Park to watch the Spain vs. Portugal game. It was RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

 IMG_2486

Spain won, obviously.

Day 2: Neuschwanstein

So Day 2 was SOOOOOOOOOO much better. We decided to go to Neuschwanstein, the castle that the Disney Castle is modeled after. Little did we know, the surrounding area was GORGEOUS!

DSC05360 We went on a little hike around the castle and it was ridiculously beautiful.DSC05319

We stumbled upon this little waterfall and decided to go for a swim. It was seriously the coldest water that I have been in in my life.

After lunch and walking around the little town, we walked to the lake, which again was GORGEOUS.DSC05375

We stuck our feet in and played with the fish a little.DSC05392

On the way back, we met this German teacher who lived in Fussen (where the castle is). She was a few years older than us and taught English in Munich. We split a train ticket because it was cheaper. She will be important much much later in our story.

Day 1:Off to Munich

DSC05207 This is Forrest's traveling/adventure face. On our way to Munich from Prague!DSC05208

So this about all I have to say about this day. I napped while Forrest went and watched the Germany game. I woke up with a fever, so I needed to get rid of that

Also, my wallet got stolen getting on this train. Not the best day, but it was all uphill from there :)
